What Is Jira?

The system where every NDP shoot lives, from booking to upload

Jira is our shoot management system. Every time an agent schedules a photo shoot, the system automatically creates one or more Jira cards for that job. You'll use Jira on both desktop and the mobile app - get signed into both before your first shoot.

💡 Desktop + Mobile

Both versions show the same cards and fields. Desktop is required for first-time setup (pinning fields). Mobile is handy on site when you need to check access instructions or add a note to the editor.

What's next

In the next few steps you'll sign in, set your display name, and pin the fields you'll use on every shoot.

2

Sign In to Jira

Find your invite email and log in

NDP sends you an invite email to join our Jira workspace. Open it and follow the link to finish setting up your account.

  1. Find the Jira invite email in your inbox (check spam if it's not there).
  2. Click the link to accept the invite and set your password.
  3. Sign in on desktop, then download the Jira mobile app and sign in there too.
Sign into both

You'll do your first-time setup on desktop, and use the mobile app on site. Get signed into both before your first shoot.

Can't find the invite?

If the invite email never arrived or the link has expired, message us in your Slack support channel and we'll resend it.

3

Set Your Display Name

Update your Jira name to the format we use

In Jira, open your profile and update your name to Firstname.Lastname.

  1. Click your avatar in the top-right corner.
  2. Choose Profile (or Manage account / Account settings).
  3. Edit your Full name so it reads Firstname.Lastname.
  4. Save your changes.
The format

Follow this exactly: Firstname.Lastname. For example, Jane Smith becomes Jane.Smith.

4

Pin Your Fields

Do this once on desktop so your key fields are always up top

Pinned fields appear at the top right of the card on desktop, and just below the General section on mobile. The first time you log in, nothing will be pinned - so let's set them up.

⚠️ Desktop only

Field pinning must be done on the desktop version of Jira. Once pinned, they'll show up in the right spot on mobile too.

  1. Open any card on desktop.
  2. Find the fields list on the right side of the card.
  3. Look for the pin icon next to each field name and click it to pin.
  4. Pin the fields below and arrange them in this order.

  3. NDPU Google Map LinkOpens the property in Google Maps. Use with caution - cross-check the address.
  4. NDPU Square FootageSize range of the property. Estimating shoot time before you go.
  5. NDPU ServiceThe product you're capturing on this card. Confirming what to shoot.
  6. NDPU Number of Expected OutputsHow many edited photos will be delivered (not raw). Planning your shoot.
  7. NDPU Raw Media Folder LinkDropbox folder link for your uploads. After the shoot - uploading files.
  8. NDPU Number of Raw PhotosHow many raw files you're sending to editors. Required to move a card to Uploaded.
  9. NDPU Media Pro MileageYour mileage to the listing. Fill in when you arrive at the property.

Once pinned, your fields sit together under My pinned fields - on the right on desktop, and below the General section on mobile.
📍 Google Map Link - use with caution

If Street View looks wrong or doesn't show a house, flag it to operations. Also try the listing address in Apple Maps or Waze, or use the calendar invite's map link as a backup.

Jira account setup complete

Nice work! You're signed in, your name is in the right format, and your key fields are pinned - so every card shows what you need up top. If anything looks off, message us in your Slack support channel.
