Quick Tips

Tagging & messaging tips to get started

Tagging
How to get the right person's attention
  • Type @ followed by a name to notify a specific team member.
  • If you're not sure who to contact, tag @here to notify everyone in the channel. Tagging a specific person is preferred when you know who to reach.
Team members have different hours

The ops team will post their hours in your channel. Check those before tagging so you reach the right person at the right time.

Using Threads
When and how to use Slack's thread feature

Slack lets you reply to a specific message in a thread. It's helpful when there are multiple messages and you need to clarify which one you're responding to. If you use threads, tap the "Also send to [channel]" checkbox before sending.

When replying in a thread, check "Also send to #channel" to keep the main channel in the loop.
Reporting Issues at a Shoot
How to communicate clearly when something comes up in the field

Whenever you report an issue, always include the property address or Jira Card title rather than "my current shoot." This tells the team exactly which house you're at without any guesswork.

Be Responsive & Proactive
Clear, proactive communication is the standard
  • Respond to messages promptly.
  • A quick "got it!" goes a long way.
  • React with an emoji (👍 ✅ 👀) to let the team know you've seen a message - it keeps things moving.
